Do you ever use the ACTS method of prayer?

(ACTS method: Admiration Confession Thanksgiving Supplication) If yes, when? All the time, just in group settings, for specific prayer, etc.? Thanks for sharing! :) God Bless You! :) Thanks for the book suggestion Daniel! I may check that out. :) I like all of the respones. :) I don't use ACTS every single time I pray, but I use it a lot. I'd like to put this to a vote; I just can't decide. :))

  1. All the time. This is true praise/worship. In spirit and truth. You come before Him with admiration and thanksgiving, praying for his forgiveness of your sins, because we all fall short, and you have a time for you and Him. Isn't this wonderful. God is so wonderful. God bless you my sister.
  2. I try to do it all the time.
  3. I ask the Lord to Forgive me for all my sins ,evil thoughts, all malice, pride, stubbornness and to take away this stony Heart and to forgive all my enemies. And I ask the Lord to help the poor and needy and those that are at war.I ask the Lord to Bless My Family, them to Bless Me, and Bless me thru this Day and thank him for giving me one more day to Live. GOD BLESS
  4. Yes, all the time.
  5. Sometimes I use the ACTS method of prayer. However, usually I just say whatever it is that's on my heart at the time, in no particular order. The ACTS method would be useful to beginners, or baby Christians.
  6. Yes! Not all the time. In fact, not even regularly, but at least once a week or so. I believe in "praying unceasingly" so most of my prayers are VERY informal! My thinking is, I have a relationship with God. It's so close that Jesus said we could address Him as "daddy" - I'm not formal with my earthly father, so why would I need to be with my Heavenly Father?
  7. Yep sure Mostly when I don't know what to say. Use privately and with my non christian girls at church. Also use SPOT and STOP :)
  8. Definitely yes, mostly in personal prayer and not necessarily in that order. I believe ACTS is a good inspiration to engage in ALL the different types of prayer. Some others include Waiting, Asking (specific questions). Actually if you would like to expand a little more in a similar fashion to the ACTS mindset a good book is "The Hour that Changes the World" by Dick Eastman. Wonderful question, please keep me posted.
