thanksgiving dinner?

My American friend invited me to his thanksgiving dinner. My question is, how do i eat a typical American thanksgiving dinner properly? By the way, i am not American. Hence, the question.

  1. The same as any other. Grab a drumstick tho, there are only two and they disappear fast.
  2. as long as u enjoy ur dinner thats what it matters and yes it will be nice to let ur host know how much u enjoyed it. and ofcorse be thankful.
  3. u got act like the coolset people caz wer americans!
  4. Pretty same as most places. Forks, knives, and spoons. We really don't eat anything in any weird way. Hope you enjoy the food though!
  5. Relax and taste everything your friend has prepared. It's a day to enjoy and be Thankful for all our blessings.
  6. It really depends on how their family celebrates it. My boyfriends family is very casual and relaxed. Their food is served "buffet style" where all the food is put on one table and you walk the length of it taking what you want. Then we sit in the livingroom to eat and talk. Then desert is served the same way. My family celebrates it more formally. We all sit at the table with all of our best dishes and silverware and the table is loaded with food. Some families will say a prayer before the meal begins. The turkey or sometimes ham will be carved and served. Then the food bowls are passed around the table and you take what you like. Everyone eats and talks until we have dessert. After dessert we head to the livingroom to talk for a while longer. Be polite, use some general table manners, and look to your friends example if you are unsure. If you asked how their family does Thanksgiving, I'm sure your friend would be happy to tell you.
