- Don't give up on prayer, be consistent in prayer, be grateful when you pray.
- In other words, be in a continually state of communication with God who's got your back in this evil world otherwise you ain't gonna make it being grouchy, nasty and cruel. It's all perspective!
- You mispelled perseveringly.... Anyway, you have to be constant in prayer(for what you want...keep thinking about out). You have to be paying attention(don't let your mind wander to other things besides prayer). As far as praying in the spirit of thanksgiving...just pray to God in love...don't pray to God out of anger like "God why did you let me dog die...GRRRRR".
- Pray often, and when you do, thank God for all that you have.
- Here are some other renderings of what the Greek says: KJV - Col 4:2 - Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; King James Version 1611, 1769 NKJV - Col 4:2 -Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; New King James Version © 1982 Thomas Nelson NLT - Col 4:2 -Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. New Living Translation © 1996 Tyndale Charitable Trust NIV - Col 4:2 - Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. New International Version © 1973, 1978, 1984 International Bible Society ESV - Col 4:2 - Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. The Holy Bible, English Standard Version © 2001 Crossway Bibles NASB - Col 4:2 -Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with {an attitude of} thanksgiving; It means keep on praying. Be expectant that G-d will answer. Be thankful while you are waiting and expecting. :) I hope this helps you. If you do these things, your relationship with G-d will grow as you trust in Messiah Yeshua (Jesus). http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/versions.pl?book=Col&chapter=4&verse=2&version=KJV#2
- Pray perserveringly: Pray for what is good for you or another, but do not pray once about it and forget about it. God knows your heart, and if you are only praying to get it over with and move on to something that you really want to do, he will know that. Pray attentive: We all have times that we are praying and fall alseep for the night. THis is not about that, its about praying with full attention and thought on what you are praying about. Those whom make lists and run through them without thinking about the person and the situation are not paying attention to what they are praying about. Spirit of Thanksgiving: My favorite, make sure that you let God know that in your heart you know that he is all powerful and all giving and all taking away. Be thankful for what he has given you and for what he has not given you. In all things know that he is God and knows what is right and just, even when we cannot see the forest for the trees.
- Well, in the KJV, it says: "Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving" That seems to me to be saying to live prayerfully, and to watch (listen eg wait in meditation) for God's reply... and do so in a spirit of gratitude (which will help to open the heavens to you... gratitude to God opens your heart and makes you more receptive to the Holy Spirit... which is His way of talking back to you.) I guess Colossians 4:2 is telling us how to have daily conversations with God.
