- Lasagna!!!
- Corn-onion pudding. Seriously. by the way...if you do...you must tell me. I'm dying to know what it's like. :)
- deviled eggs, mashed potatoes/gravy, sweet potato casserole (yumm), 7 layer salad, rolls, pumpkin cheesecake I am gonna make that corn-onion pudding tonight!
- Roast chicken, duck, goose, standing rib roast, or a ham. potato salad, sweet potato casserole, deviled eggs, homemade creamed corn, sweet peas with fried onions. The possibilities are endless. Here's another, stuffed pork chops.
- A few other things you could do would be baked sweet potatoes, or a sweet potato casserole instead of the traditional candied yam. Also, try to make you cranberry sauce from scratch instead of the jellied stuff (which I LOVE), try roasted poatatoes intstead of mashed. Do a ham along with the turkey and do cornbread stuffing with sausage in it- YUM!
- Ham, Duck, Venison, Rabbit would still be historically traditional (if you care). Or Prime Rib, Standing Rib Roast, Beef Wellington, Rack of Lamb, whole salmon, could be festive entrees. Albeit, a bit more Christmas/Hanukkah-ish Sides would be influenced by the entrees. What are some family favorites???
- Baked beans Fruit salad/ambrosia Mexican cornbread
- Cranberry sauce: it's so easy to make your own instead of the canned stuff. My co-worker wrote a great how to on it: http://www.mahalo.com/How_to_Make_Cranberry_Sauce
