Any suggestions for planning a nice Thanksgiving dinner? I wanted to host our families Thanksgiving dinner this year but my apartment isn't big enough for the 20+ people that we will be having. My bf is a great cook so he is in charge of most of the food and everyone else is just bringing small dishes or appetizers. I'm making pumpkin rolls and cranberry sauce. As far as decorations go I'm using the big 4 wick candles and putting grapes, apples and pears around them. I made a tablecloth by gathering leaves and using fabric paint to stamp them onto a plain white table cloth. I also have ideas for other decorating but what I want to know is, would it be totally tacky to use disposable plates? I'm willing to buy nice ones but I just don't want myself or anyone else to have to deal with a lot of dishes after we eat. I'd rather just relax, play some games maybe and watch football. Any suggestions about dinnerware or any other decorations or anything would be appreciated! Thanks! Ooops I forgot to mention that the dinner will be held at my uncle's house since he has a huge house and is going through a divorce so it is just him there. I hate my small apartment!

My husband and I had decided to stay home for Thanksgiving this year as other family members has not decided to get together.If I make a dinner for just my husband and I;I would make too much and I have a feeling all the food I made will go to waste.I do not want to go out for dinner either.What recipies I could make for the 2 of us?

Thanksgiving Dinner - One Thing You MUST See On The Table? Here in the USA, Thanksgiving is almost upon us. Most (but not all) of us will be enjoying Turkey for our dinner. But what is the one thing that you would "cry" over if it wasn't on the Thanksgiving holiday table? For me, the stuffing!

Thanksgiving guest brings own Tupperware and take leftovers BEFORE dinner is served. What should I have done? My cousin Gus joined us for Thanksgiving dinner after several years of going to upscale restaurants for Thanksgiving. It was nice to see this fellow again but right before dinner the strangest thing happened. It was announced dinner would be ready in 5 minutes & Gus went to his car and brought in 3 large Tupperware containers. I though nothing of this until he actually starting filling them BEFORE dinner was served. The biggest container was filled with 3/4 of the stuffing that was prepared. He also did not hold back on filling the containers with slices of turkey. Other family members had to go without stuffing because of this. The whole family was flabbergasted & did not say anything. I can assume they were in complete shock. Gus is well off & certainly does not need all this food. Has this ever happened to anyone before? What would you have done in this situation? He said he'd be back for Christmas dinner, what should I do if he tries to take all the ham?

She's not from the area where we live therefore she has no family around. Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away so I'm not sure if it would be arrpopriate to invite her since her and I just met. Do I have to have Thanksgiving dinner with my inlaws? Each year my family has Thanksgiving dinner and my inlaws have Christmas dinner. This year my family has decided not to meet for Thanksgiving, not a biggie! My inlaws feel we have to eat with them and I don't want to! My husband feels we have to not to hurt their feelings, since we aren't doing anything anyway. Why can't I just make dinner and be with my immediate family. Is it rude that I do not want to spend time with my inlaws? I guess I need to expand a little bit more. We have been married for over 10 years. We spend 85% of our time with his family. I do adore them all, I just want some alone time with my family. If I didn't seem every day, it wouldn't be an issue I guess.
